‌Laurie Pearce, PhD (Yale), is a lecturer in Akkadian in the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures at UCBerkeley. In addition to teaching the language of ancient Assyria and Babylonia, her research interests are in the social and economic history of the first millennium BCE, with a particular focus on identity and ethnicity. She has published a volume of texts recording the social/economic location of the Judean exiles in Babylonia.
